The energy trap at the heart of Africa's stalled industrialization.

Co-authored with W. Gyude Moore, the piece argues that Africa cannot industrialize without a step change in power generation — and that the current donor focus on off-grid renewables, while important, is no substitute for the baseload capacity factories actually need.

Two Lancet papers on HIV prevention in Africa.

Igbinosun is a co-author on a Lancet Global Health paper examining how digital health and AI can extend HIV prevention to the populations at greatest risk, and on a companion Lancet HIV paper proposing a systematic framework for community engagement and adaptive learning in prevention programs.

The paradox of AI accelerationism and the promise of public interest AI.

Okolo's first piece in Science makes the case for an alternative to Silicon Valley's "accelerate without restraint" doctrine on AI — an explicitly public-interest framework that is more equitable, more sustainable, and democratically accountable, with implications for AI governance across the Global South.
